HISTORY OF THE AUDIOLOGICAL CLINIC
The audiological clinic of SEKOMU started in January 2013.It was
established in
house number two in Campus B next to the road leading to Lushoto town.
The clinic was officially opened by the Ambassador of Norway in
Tanzania. The clinic has had dignitaries from Sweden visiting and
participating in the activities of the clinic and watching our students practice
Audiological services. It is currently open to all people who have ear problems
and those who are suspecting to have ear problems, for assessment.

1.To serve the University and surrounding community

ACTIVITIES PERFORMED IN THE CLINIC
1. Case history taking for the following:
i. Adults
ii. Pediatric
2 . Indvidual Speech and Auditory training
3. Taking of puretone audiometry; Ploting and interpreting audiograms.
4. Earmold Manufacturing
5. Guidance and counseling in the area of hearing impairment
6. Making referrals to hospitals and recommending schools for
placement
7. Otoscoping, cleaning syringing (removing excessive ear
wax and foreign bodies from the ear).

PERSONELS OF AUDIOLOGICAL CLINIC
The head of department is Sella Munyendo, while Mr.Mbwana Gubika
is the Audiologist. The clinic has two clinic attendants who are
our own students in the department of hearing impairments;
that is Mr.Issa Kambi and Stanislaus Emanuel.
