“FIRST OF ALL THEN I URGE THAT PETITIONS, PRAYERS, INTERCESSIONS AND
THANKS GIVING BE OFFERED
FOR EVERYONE” (1Timothy 2:1)
Today 8th November 2013 the SEKOMU
community gathered in the New Lecture Theatre for worship service led by the
Principal Dean of the Northern Eastern Diocese, Rev. Yohana Mmaka. The aim of
the Special Service was to mark the beginning of the new Academic Year
2013/2014.
This beautiful sermon was accompanied by the SEKOMU
students’ choir that sang beautifully throughout the service.
The Principal Dean read a word of God from the Book of
Revelations 7: 1-8 and stressed on the importance of Christians being faithful.
He reminded the congregation that the fruits of being faithful are rewarding in
all aspects of life, be it in studies, work and elsewhere.
The General Secretary, Rev. James Mwinuka, who also
took part in the worship service greeted the congregation and urged the
University workers as well as the students to take part in making SEKOMU a
beautiful society by playing their roles responsibly.
Dr. Wilson William, the
Dean Faculty of Science and the acting DVC-ARC, welcomed the first year
students who joined the University in different academic disciplines and wished
them luck in their studies.
